Set of WW II Ship Ident Models - IJN CLs USN DDs
Object/Artifact
Set of 4 US Navy ship identification models in a 28.5" x 13.5" x 7.5" folding wooden case. Identification ship models were fabricated by Framburg, South Salem and Comet. Models are cast metal, painted dark grey. (Larger models have some wooden component parts.) Outside of case is painted grey. Top is stenciled in black paint with "US NAVY TEACHER MODELS", also written on top in marking pen is "TP". (Note: Title on case may not correspond to actual contents.) Has rope handles. Case is hinged and latches closed, opens to reveal ship models on shelves inside back half of case. Inside painted light blue. Ship models include:
