Pacific Battleship Center is proud to feature a new exhibition at Gallery Alfa Romeo Tango (ART) aboard Battleship IOWA: CORAL SEA, The Unsung Battle of the South Pacific by Kio Griffith.
This exhibition is brought to life through blueprint styled graphic prints of hybrid war machines, a hybridized Japanese castle and superstructure of the IJN battleship, postage stamp styled graphic prints of imaginary nations named after bodies of water and seas and more.
The exhibition will run through November 6, 2019 and is included in the Extended IOWA Experience ticket which can be purchased online or at the Ticketing Office.

Kio Griffith is a bi-coastal, Los Angeles and Japan based artist, curator, and writer. His conceptual work includes drawing, painting, sound, video, performance, electronics, language, sculpture and installation. He has exhibited internationally in UK, Japan, Germany, Croatia, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Turkey, Belgium, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil and the U.S. His current projects include founder / project director at OOTE 41221 in Matsumoto, Japan, co-founder of Transit Republic and Genzou, independent curator, contributing editor at Fabrik, Artscape and Art Bridge magazines, former art director at Angel City Jazz Festival and has designed over 300 music album packaging. Griffith has exhibited in the 2016 Aichi Triennale, selected in the 2017 Emerging Curator program at LACE (Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions), and exhibiting artist at TOKAS’ (Tokyo Arts And Space) OPEN SITE 2018. Future projects include public installation at Okinoshima (Setonaikai), a solo exhibition at the USS Iowa’s new art space, Alpha Romeo Tango, and a sound installation at SoundPedro.
