Hull Preservation 2021 Campaign Week 10

That’s A Wrap!

Ten weeks, cool videos, cofferdams, cathodic protection… Our hull preservation campaign has been a heck of a ride. On Monday we’ll be bringing this informative journey to a close (but not the hull preservation!).

Vice President of Development & Marketing Joleen Deatherage and COO Mike Getscher got together to let you know how we did and to thank you for your remarkable support. Click the photo below for their remarks.

But wait – we got one last match!

Captain Rich Abele, who started this campaign with its first match, has decided to end it with another. We’re a bit flabbergasted by his generosity: he’s offered to match any funds we raise up to $5,000! These funds will help us get closer to the $100,000 mark, which would really make a difference not only in doing current work on the hull, but in establishing the means for ongoing maintenance.

Jump in and help us hit this last goal by Monday!  Donate Now

If you’ve donated already, we are super grateful. But please help us get the $5,000 from Rich and raise another $10,000 for the hull! Tell a friend, heck, tell a couple friends! You can include our eye-opening video show why we need to attend to the work NOW. Here’s the link:

If you’d like to send a check, please mail to:

A million thanks for your support!

Last Chance To Vote!

Voting in Councilman Buscaino’s Community Grants Program closes Monday. There are just days to get your vote in. And there’s no better time to cast your vote for San Pedro’s fallen with Memorial Day only days away.

We’re competing with 160 other local non-profits and the competition is fierce. All worthy organizations and projects, but of course we think ours is most worthy of your support. We must never forget the fallen who paid for our freedoms with their lives. You can read our proposal here. Vote now and please ask your family and friends to vote.

Scroll down the voting page to find “San Pedro Fallen Veterans Memorial”

Be sure to use “90731” zip code when voting – you are a stakeholder!

Covid regulations are easing, but in the interest of safety, we’re keeping our observance of Memorial Day mainly virtual this year. We’ll broadcast a ceremony live from the fantail at 10:00 AM. It will be followed by a concert to celebrate the American Spirit, headlined by the Jokers.

Join us Monday at 10:00 AM on our YouTube channel.

If you have any questions about our Memorial Day Remembrance, please contact Janice Bowman.
