Nautical Chart Dividers
Object/Artifact
Nautical Chart Dividers are used to measure the distance between point A and B on a map using the map's scale to find the correct distance. When the IOWA was first activated, instruments like this were still used to aid in the navigation of the ship. This pair of dividers comes from the Geo E. Butler Company in San Francisco and were made in England. They are made from brass and steel.
