Set of Ship Ident Models - BB, CA, CLs, AGC, SSBN
Object/Artifact
Set of 7 US Navy ship identification models in a 37" x 17" x 4.5" folding wooden case. Identification ship models were fabricated by Framburg, South Salem and Comet. Models are cast metal, painted dark grey. (Larger models may have some wooden component parts.) Outside of case is painted grey. Top is stenciled in black paint with "U.S. NAVY TEACHER MODELS / GERMAN NAVY". (Note: Title on box may not correspond to actual contents.) Has rope handles. Case is hinged and latches closed, opens to reveal ship models on shelves inside back half of case. Inside painted light blue. Ship models include:
USS Atlanta - Light Cruiser - USN
KM Prinz Eugen - Cruiser - KM
HMS King George V - Battleship - RN
USS Omaha - Light Cruiser - USN
USS Mt McKinley - Command Ship - USN
USS George Washington - Nuclear Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarine - USN
IJN Natori - Light Cruiser - IJN
Note: H A Framburg ceased production at the end of WW II. The SSBN is not a Framburg model.
