Set of WW II Ship Ident Models - CVEs, CAs, CL, DDs, DE, FF
Object/Artifact
Set of 9 US Navy ship identification models in a 22" x 14.5" x 6.5" folding wooden case. Identification ship models were fabricated by Framburg, South Salem and Comet. Outside of case is painted grey. Models are cast metal, painted dark grey. (Larger models have some wooden component parts.) Top is stenciled in black paint with "UNITED STATES SHIP MODELS". (Note: Title on case may not correspond to actual contents.) Has rope handles. Case is hinged and latches closed, opens to reveal ship models on shelves inside both front and back half of case. Inside painted light blue. Ship models include:
