Set of WW II Ship Ident Models - BBs, CVE, CA, CLs, DD, Minesweeper
Object/Artifact
Set of 11 US Navy ship identification models in a 22" x 18.5" x 6.5" folding wooden case. Identification ship models were fabricated by Framburg, South Salem and Comet. Models are cast metal, painted dark grey. (Larger models have some wooden component parts.) Outside of case is painted grey. Top is stenciled in black paint with "US NAVY TEACHER / BRITISH & FRENCH SHIP MODELS / MARK I SUPPLEMENT I". (Note: Title on box may not correspond to actual contents.) Has rope handles. Case is hinged and latches closed, opens to reveal ship models on shelves inside both front and back half of case. Inside painted light blue. Ship models include:
