Underserved Women Veteran Project

The Battleship IOWA Museum is excited to announce the launch of the Underserved Veteran Women Project in partnership with the Veteran Peer Access Network (VPAN) and Veterans West.

Los Angeles has the largest veteran population in the United States, many of whom are underserved or homeless. Women veterans, especially those over the age of fifty-five, are in need of personal and physical healthcare items that are often omitted from “essential” care packages. This project is intended to combat these shortages by bringing the community together to give back to those who have given so much to us. Just spending $5 to purchase essential items can go a long way in providing these women veterans the items and care they need.

You can support the project by purchasing items from the Amazon Charity List.

IMPORTANT: When donating items to the project through the Amazon Charity List, please change the donation to read “Attention VPAN” still using the same Battleship IOWA address of 250 S. Harbor Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90731.
Physical local drop-off locations will be announced soon.

For more information reach out to the project coordinator, Kaleena Bettis, at kbettis@veteranswest.org, or (562) 588-2135.
