We’re here to ensure your event runs smoothly while you maintain creative and planning control.

Do you host Military Ceremonies?

What types of military ceremonies can be hosted aboard the Battleship IOWA?
We proudly host a range of military ceremonies, including retirements, promotions, reenlistments, change of command, memorial services, and celebrations of life. Each event is handled with care and respect for the traditions and service of those being honored.

How far in advance should we reserve a ceremony date?
We recommend reserving at least 4–6 weeks in advance. However, we can sometimes accommodate shorter timelines depending on space and staff availability. Please reach out early to secure your preferred date.

Which spaces are best for military ceremonies?
Popular ceremony locations include the Covered Fantail, President’s & Admiral’s Veranda, and the Officers’ Wardroom for more intimate gatherings. We’ll help you select the right space based on guest count, ceremony style, and weather preferences.

Are flag ceremonies or color guards allowed?
Yes. We encourage proper military traditions aboard the ship. Flag folding, color guards, honor salutes, and service rituals are welcome. We ask that you coordinate these details in advance to ensure proper space and timing.

Absolutely. You’re welcome to invite your own officiant, chaplain, or speakers. Our team can assist with setup and timing to ensure a respectful and seamless experience.
