March 20, 2020 – Coronavirus Impact to Battleship IOWA
IOWA Family: As many of you know, multiple orders were issued in California yesterday to keep the population Safer at Home. In the County and City of Los Angeles these orders were issued to go until April 19th with a possibility of extending. This order prevents us from reopening until April 19th at the earliest. IOWA UPDATE 3/17/20
IOWA Family: A brief update for Tuesday, March 17th. Our Board of Directors and President's Advisory Board is appreciative to the numerous supporters and crew that have donated to date. You make it possible for us to continue to preserve the ship and and prepare for a reopening. The Operations Team continues to work on reduction with a goal time of switch over at 1600. March 15, 2020 – Battleship IOWA Closure Update
Some of things going on to assist with closure including Finance Teams work with insurance and financing, Developments (Joleen) work on contributions and donor servicing, and Operations / IT work on power reduction. We will continue to maintain the ship and have work days for the Operations and Security teams. Deck power will be available for welding, painting, and deck work.
