IOWA Volunteers Are The Best
The heart of Battleship IOWA’s crew is our volunteers. Without them the ship would not be here.
There’s really no way to thank or recognize them enough for all they do or to accurately describe the phenomenal community they create, but we do come up with fun opportunities to honor their service.
One of those fun opportunities is our quarterly bell ringing ceremony. Every volunteer who has reached the 1,000 hour mark of service hours has the chance to ring the ship’s bell to celebrate. Individual names and hour totals are read over the ship’s legacy PA system – the 1MC, then the volunteer gets to make the bell sing. We usually follow it up with refreshments in our volunteer lounge. It’s always inspiring.

FOOTBALL ON THE FANTAIL
Into professional sports and want a cool place to catch your favorite team in action? Look no further than Battleship IOWA!
Starting September 10th, we’ll be opening the fantail and showing football games on the LED wall all day on Sundays and for Monday night football during the NFL season. If the Dodgers make the playoff, we’re here for it, too!
And that’s not all. We’ll be including other fun activities – like sip and paint opportunities and our Speaker Series – in the mix in the very near future.
Enjoy those balmy summer and early fall evenings at the best outdoor venue on the LA Waterfront!
