VETERANS DAY EVENTS

Veterans West, our military and veterans affairs department, is the heart of one of our organizational pillars.

Focusing on key needs for those who have served, including housing coordination, workforce development, connections to job openings, help navigating the Veterans Administration system, and providing other resources, Veterans West leads the charge for our veterans initiatives.

This year alone, the team has assisted over 3,800 veterans.

You can be part of the incredible work they’re doing. Join us for two events aboard IOWA over Veterans Day Weekend that directly benefit their crucial programs. Even if you can’t make it, we appreciate your consideration of donating in support of the event

Check out your options below!

“LOVE, DOLLY” CONCERT BENEFITTING VETERANS WEST

Who’s up for some classic country croonin’ in the name of a great cause?

A love letter to America’s “Backwoods Barbie,” Love, Dolly stars Kim Eberhardt as national treasure Dolly Parton in a jukebox concert peppered with stories from Parton’s life. This production encourages audiences to take pictures and videos, clap, and sing along.

Join us for a great time under the stars aboard Battleship IOWA on Veterans Day weekend – Friday, Nov. 10th!

STEEL BEACH CIGAR SOCIAL

OCTOBER HIGHLIGHTS

HALLOWEEN STEMEBRATION

Last Saturday we held our 3rd annual Halloween STEMebration. This year’s event was packed with even more fun: in addition to our usual line up of games and trick-or-treating stations, we had story time, a showing of Hotel Transylvania, and new favorite Franklin’s Marionettes.

Join us in thanking our wonderful sponsors, who make this event possible:

And a round of applause for those who made the “trunk-or-treat” on the pier a fun start to the night:

Let’s not forget IOWA’s fantastic crew. They turned out in force to make this an unforgettable time for all who attended.

Start thinking about your next costume. We’ll be back next year!

FREEDOM OF THE SEAS WEEKEND

The 2023 Freedom of the Seas Weekend was a special and memorable event. We’d like to take this opportunity to extend another thank you to our sponsors, awardees, and guests that made this wonderful evening possible.

SCUTTLEBUTT PODCAST | Season 2 Episode 17: Attempted Murder with LA Port Police Officers Stacey Creech & Aldo Morales (Part 2)

Los Angeles Port Police Community Relations Officers Stacey Creech and Aldo Morales are near and dear to our hearts here at Battleship IOWA. They have our backs during any event we hold that involves the public, most notably LA Fleet Week, and they do everything with kindness and unending good humor.

We decided to show them off on our podcast and let you get to know why we love them.

(So what’s this about murder? We explained in Part 1 of this podcast here.)
