Coming soon to Battleship IOWA
Static exhibits. They’re cool.
A model of a square rigger with all its intricate details… or a huge and legendary castle of steel like BISMARCK or YAMATO… Fascinating…
Models are the only ways we can experience life aboard such vessels now… right? Or are they?
What if you could actually step into the shoes of a sailor standing on those decks? What if you could use all of your senses to dive into a living version of the life of a U.S. navy sailor?
Battleship IOWA is about to drop something very new
Life of a Sailor is a bold immersive experience coming to the National Museum of the Surface Navy at Battleship IOWA. You won’t just learn history. You’ll live it.
Move from boot camp to the open sea through cinematic environments, interactive storytelling, and hands-on moments that place you in the role of a sailor. Feel the challenge, the teamwork, and the purpose behind every mission.
Phase One – coming over Memorial Day weekend – will launch the first chapter of a multi-phase experience that will continue to grow and evolve over time. Every visit will reveal more of the story and the people who serve.
This isn’t a museum.
It’s a mission. YOUR mission.
Choose to accept it… and stay tuned for more.
