Strengthening Our Community Through Connection & Purpose
We bring people together through civic engagement, disaster readiness, and partnerships that build a stronger, more resilient Los Angeles.
A Community Connector
Battleship IOWA strengthens Los Angeles by serving as a community anchor and connector of people.
Our role is bigger than preserving a historic ship. We bring together the military, Surface Navy, public safety agencies, government, nonprofits, businesses, veterans, youth, volunteers, and the broader community.
These relationships matter every day, but they become critical in times of need. Through LA Fleet Week, LADRRC, and our public safety initiatives, we help build trust, break down stereotypes, and connect public and private sector partners before a crisis happens. When minutes can mean the difference between life and death, coordination cannot start during the emergency.
This same purpose drives our broader impact. Battleship IOWA generates more than $13 million annually, supports 250+ local jobs, and provides more than $500,000 each year in donated tickets and event fees to nonprofits and community organizations.
More than a museum, Battleship IOWA is a platform for service, preparedness, and community connection — helping Los Angeles prepare, respond, and recover together.
