For an executive off-site with genuine historic weight, the Captain's Cabin is one of the most compelling meeting rooms in Southern California. President Franklin D. Roosevelt occupied the space during his secret 1943 voyage aboard IOWA on the way to meetings with Allied leaders. The ship's event materials also identify the conference table as a place connected to planning for D-Day.

Today, the room can seat approximately 12 guests at its fixed conference table and accommodate up to 40 for a standing gathering. It includes a living-room-style seating area with sofas and lounge chairs, giving leaders space to move naturally between formal discussion and more conversational work.

This is not a room decorated with reproductions of history. It is the actual shipboard environment once occupied by a sitting president, senior military leaders, captains, and admirals.

Pair the Meeting With the Captain's Veranda

Immediately adjacent to the Captain's Cabin is the Captain's Veranda, a covered, elevated outdoor deck overlooking the harbor. The combination creates an unusually effective executive-event format: focused work indoors, followed by lunch, a reception, or informal conversation in the open air.

The Veranda can accommodate approximately 100 seated guests or 200 standing. For smaller corporate groups, it feels spacious and private. For larger programs, it can function as a VIP reception area, hospitality deck, or breakout space connected to the ship's command history.

Indoor and Outdoor Options for Every Agenda

The Wardroom is the largest indoor event space on the ship and can support approximately 90 seated guests or 150 standing. It includes fixed tables, chairs, and audio with two microphones, making it practical for dinners, presentations, training sessions, and programs that need an enclosed environment.

The Covered Fantail supports large receptions and company celebrations for up to approximately 400 standing. Its included tent, tables, chairs, audio, microphones, stage, and lighting give planners a strong operational foundation. The Bow provides an iconic setting beneath the 16-inch guns for brand launches, media events, team photographs, and high-impact receptions.

Corporate event planners often spend more time coordinating vendors than shaping the guest experience. Vicky's Doghouse offers in-house catering, while a curated list of preferred caterers provides additional menu and service styles. The venue team can help match the space, equipment, staffing, and enhancements to the size and objectives of the event.
