Rich with color, symbolism, and intricate detail, the panels trace the ship’s journey from construction and commissioning through life at sea, wartime service, and her preservation as a museum. Each piece brings together important events, people, traditions, and symbols from USS IOWA’s history.
Funded and made possible by proud Iowans, the exhibit celebrates the enduring connection between the battleship and the state whose name she carries. Together, the panels transform USS IOWA’s history into a work of art that invites visitors to look closely, uncover hidden details, and experience her story in a new way.
