Victory “Vicky” the Dog Adventure
Follow Vicky’s Trail in a Ship-Wide Scavenger Hunt
Step into history through the eyes (and paws) of the most beloved sailor aboard the Battleship IOWA — Victory, affectionately known as “Vicky.” During World War II, this spirited pup earned his place among the crew, warming hearts and bunks alike. Gifted to the sailors during a secret mission that carried President Franklin D. Roosevelt across the Atlantic, Vicky quickly became more than a mascot. He roamed the passageways freely, slept at the foot of the President’s bed, and was even issued his own set of military “orders.”
Today, Vicky’s legacy lives on in a ship-wide adventure designed for kids and families. Included with all general admission and premium experiences, the Vicky’s Scavenger Hunt turns the battleship into a floating playground of curiosity and discovery. Follow her pawprints from bow to stern, unlock clues, solve puzzles, and learn about life at sea — all while earning a special prize created by famed animator and Battleship USS IOWA crewmember Brent Noll.
It’s an experience that bridges generations. Kids become explorers, parents rediscover history through their children’s eyes, and every deck becomes part of the journey.
